3D Movies 2010
Anyone that might think 3D HD is a passing fad could do worse than look at the scheduling for this year’s Hollywood blockbusters. Every movie house, it seems, is clambering to get their hands on the extra cash being generated by the new cinema experience with no less than 17 major releases set to include 3D versions at launch.
The success of Avatar and a handful of other films has forced production companies to think 3D first as they create their forthcoming blockbusters in order to grab a piece of the gold rush.
The 3D movie madness follows hot on the heels of news that pretty much every country will be hosting its own World Cup 3D parties to coincide with global launches of 3d tvs around the world.
As for movies here is a rough guide to what is coming your way for the rest of 2010 in 3D big screen:
Shrek Forever After
The fourth and final adventure of the giant animated green ogre in the land of Far, Far Away, starring the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and Antonio Banderas.
Toy Story 3
Woody, Buzz and their toy-box pals are dumped at daycare when Andy heads to college and they encounter new friends and foes. Features an all-star voice cast of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton, Whoopi Goldberg, Timothy Dalton, and Joan Cusack.
Despicable Me
A wicked villain’s plans to steal the moon are thwarted by a trio of orphan girls who befriend him. Stars the voices of Steve Carell, Russell Brand, and Julie Andrews.
Cats & Dogs: the Revenge of Kitty Galore
A fur-flying action comedy following a truce between canines and felines attempting to stop the sinister plans of a spy cat. Voices by Alec Baldwin and Bette Midler, also starring Chris O’Donnell and Roger Moore.
Step Up 3D
The third installment of the dance franchise set in New York with street dancers Rick Malambri and Sharni Vinson in a showdown against the world’s best breakdancers.
